Dr. Welle received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, he then completed his general surgery residency at Henry Ford health system in Detroit, Michigan, prior to completing his surgical critical care fellowship at Saint Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, New York. Dr. Welle is a fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and American College of Surgeons and is a member of the Western Trauma Association and Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma. He is dual board-certified in general surgery and surgical critical care by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery. Dr. Welle joined Valley Surgical Clinics and Acute Care Surgical Specialists in 2019, currently serving as the Director of Surgical Critical Care at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Tucson.
