Scott Sholem, M.D.
Board Certified Critical Care & Trauma Surgeon
Dr. Scott Sholem earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) from the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. He completed his general surgery residency at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey, and a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care at ChristianaCare in Newark, Delaware.
He currently serves as Associate Trauma Medical Director at HonorHealth John C. Lincoln Medical Center —where, in a full-circle moment, he was also born. He lives in Phoenix with his wife and one-year-old daughter. When not in the trauma bay, he enjoys playing guitar, documentary filmmaking, and travel.
Dr. Sholem's ongoing research aims to improve pain management strategies in geriatric trauma patients through opioid-sparing protocols and specialized order set implementation. Future studies will expand on inpatient treatment of fragility fractures and refine rib fracture identification and management across diverse trauma populations.
