Alicia Mangram, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Mangram is a nationally recognized leader in trauma and critical care surgery, serving as Senior Medical Director of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery, Medical Director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, and Program Director of the General Surgery Residency at HonorHealth John C. Lincoln Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, while also holding academic roles at A.T. Still University, Midwestern University, and as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. A graduate of Meharry Medical College with advanced training in general surgery and surgical critical care at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, she has dedicated her career to advancing trauma care through innovation, research, education, and advocacy. She is the founder of the G-60 Program, a multidisciplinary trauma model that improves outcomes for patients aged 60 and older by expediting diagnosis, admission, and surgical intervention while incorporating a biopsychosocial approach to recovery. Internationally respected for her landmark work with the CDC on the 1999 Guidelines for the Prevention of Surgical Site Infection and her pioneering contributions to geriatric trauma, she has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and lectures widely at national and international forums. Dr. Mangram is an active member of leading professional societies, including the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma, the Western Trauma Association, the Arizona Trauma Association, and the Southwest Surgical Congress, and serves on the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma. Continuing to push the boundaries of surgical education and innovation, she is developing an acute care robotic emergency general surgery curriculum to shape the next generation of trauma care.
